Os primeiros pontos de reuniões de comerciantes surgiram na Bahia e no Rio de Janeiro. As associações tinham como objetivo fortalecer, dignificar e proteger todos que viviam em torno do comércio, entretanto agiam também em defesa da liberdade e da cidadania. A Associação Comercial e Empresarial de Feira de Santana foi fundada em 17 de junho de 1945, durante a primeira fase da Era Vargas, especificamente no período de declínio do denominado Estado Novo.
